Burkett is State Champion Golfer!

What an afternoon it was for Liberty North High School Sophomore Bailey Burkett, who become the first golfer in LNHS history to claim an individual state championship. The amazing accomplishment took place at Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield, MO at the Missouri Class 4 State Championships that took place Monday and Tuesday, October 18 - 19, 2021. Birkett not only won the title, she won it going away, winning by five strokes. She was also the only golfer to go under par over the two days, shooting a -1.

"I don't know if it has really sunk in yet," said Birkett shortly after sinking her final putt of the tournament.  "I was bombarded with water on the last green by my teammates which was....fun".

In addition, the Lady Eagles finished 2nd overall as a team behind only St. Joseph's Academy. Other LNHS golfers that joined Birkett on the historic day included Averi Mickelson (All-State), Emmy Braden (All-State), and Kate Braden. Congratulations to Coach Jeff Braden and the entire Eagle program for this tremendous news!
